Guitar Lessons

"Why guitar lessons? It’s fun, it’s creative but more importantly it’s cool. The guitar has been at the forefront of contemporary and rock music since the birth of the instrument."

Since its electrification, the guitar has taken off like no other instrument. After all, Slash (Guns and Roses) is quoted saying “nothing can transform mere mortals into rock gods quite like the guitar.” He’s probably right. With an infinite amount of variable chords, melodies and a little expressive percussion, the guitar holds no bounds in which you can unlock your own creativity.

guitar Lessons For All Ages & Abilities

Hugely popular with all ages and abilities, we offer a wide range of guitar lessons and tuition at our Bolton premises. These include electric, acoustic and spanish guitar tuition in rock, jazz, flamenco, classical, latin, blues, country and folk.

All styles of bass guitar lessons and tuition are also covered to a high level. Students are encouraged to interact with different musicians through our Live Zone program within the school to aid their progress and enjoyment, and concerts are held throughout the year for more experienced pupils.

Why Guitar Tuition at Booths?

We’ve been amongst guitars for longer than we’d care to think about, sold thousands over the years and had scores of well know players/bands in the store. But the overriding factor to the header above is that we’ve all, staff and tutors, spent time (plenty of it) in entertainment, bands, and the recording industry. This area of experience enables a sense of recognition in the desire from a student to be expressive and creative in our guitar lessons.

Having walked down and now sharing the same path, we feel the tutelage and advice we can offer will make those ambitions a smoother, more achievable journey.  We believe the experience we share can give anyone the best chances of achieving their own musical ambitions.

Guitar Exams Supported

While many students choose to learn simply for personal enjoyment, others are keen to seal their progress with a certificate through graded exams. The music and guitar tutors have studied extensively through their careers and offer an unmeasurable wealth of knowledge in all aspects of their instrument, including live performance, technical advice and encouragement. Alongside classical guitar exam studies, the RGT and RSL exam boards are very popular.

We are proud and humbled at the thousands of successful exam results achieved. The amount of students bringing music into their lives as a career deserves a huge pat on the back for all the tutors here at Booths.

Folk Instrument Lessons

Particularly popular instruments at present include the banjo and ukulele, which are also taught from our downstairs studios alongside the Mandolin. Although these instruments are fun to learn, theory is incorporated into music lessons and a high playing standard can be achieved.

Please call in or contact us for more information on our wide range of music tutors covering everything from guitar lessons to music tuition and string instrument lessons. If you would like to enquire about the availability of guitar lessons, please fill out the form below.

Please remember that Booths Music is a registered Rock School examination centre and students from the local area can choose to sit their graded guitar, bass or drum exam from our studios. We also stock all Rock School exam repertoire and teaching material. Please enquire for more details.
