“Team Booth’s” conquer Skiddaw

  • by

This weekend, some of our Booth’s Music tutors and staff joined the Bolton Outdoors, Walking and Ale appreciation society on a trip to the Lake District. The purpose was to climb up England’s fourth tallest peak, Skiddaw, which towers above northern lakeland at 931 meters (3,054ft). The walk was amazing, snowy conditions providing a stunning backdrop and clear visibility allowing for immaculate views across most of the fells, across the Solway Firth to Scotland and even the Isle of Man.

Skiddaw Conquerors

Taking part in the Skiddaw expedition were Booth’s Music piano, woodwind and vocal tutors Mike, Faye, Georgina, John Leddy and from the shop, Colin. The route was around eight-and-a-half miles taking in other Wainwright fells “Ullock Pike”, “Carl Side” and “Bake Stall”, taking around seven hours to complete. Great fun for all involved!

The Bolton Outdoors, Walking and Ale appreciation Society takes place at regular times throughout the year, with walks generally planned across the local North West area. As you have seen above, trips are also organised to the Lake District, Pennines and from time to time, the Scottish Highlands! If you would like to read more information on the Society, please click here to see the Facebook page! Walks and ale appreciation are organised by Booths Music’s Colin, if you wish to take part please get in touch or keep up with Facebook updates; all are welcome!
