Similarly to the 1501 model, the handmade and hand varnished 1502 William Davy violin was made at the well known Heritage workshop outside Beijing.
The back of the 1502 features two pieces of figured maple from the Southern Himalaya, with the ribs and scroll in similar wood. The table of the 1502 consists of two pieces of high mountain spruce from Northern China and finished with a hand-applied spirit varnish. Boxwood fittings, Dominant strings and a figured old maple Aubert bridge of the highest quality complete the William Davy 1502 ensemble.
Typically these violins have a bright and responsive tone. Scroll down the page for more images.
