Faye Mclachlan – Woodwind Tutor

Faye MclachlanFaye is well-trained in a number of instruments and is an experienced teacher of the flute, clarinet, saxophone and recorder. With an MA in Music Performance from the University of Salford, Faye  studied all types of performances and performed a number of solo recitals, as well as completing a 15, 000 word dissertations on why people learn to play musical instruments and what the health and social benefits of music are. Before completing her Masters, Faye achieved a First class BA (hons) degree in Music. She has her Grade 8 flute with distinction and has been teaching privately for just over 7 years, working for Salford music and performing arts service (MAPAS) for 5 years.


Faye Mclachlan: Experience


Faye has experience of teaching on a one to one basis as well as small groups and whole classes, concentrating on many styles, from classical and jazz to modern pieces. What’s more, she can teach flute clarinet and sax all to grade 8 standard and music theory to grade 5 (100% theory exam success, most with merit and distinction + 100% ABRSM pass rate). Faye has played in many ensembles including: wind band, orchestra, big band, jazz ensembles, chamber ensembles, quartets, flute choirs, clarinets choirs and even percussion groups and a samba band; she now leads her own youth flute choir and beginner youth wind band.
