Sarah Carney – Woodwind Tutor

Sarah CarneySarah began playing Flute at an early age and played in numerous ensembles at Salford Music Service and later Manchester Music Service. She studied music at Xaverian College and went on to complete her Undergraduate and Master’s degrees at the University of Huddersfield. At Undergraduate level Sarah specialised in Solo Performance and during her time at University she was Principle Flautist of the University Symphony Orchestra and also Piccolo in the Symphonic Wind Orchestra. She later studied privately for the ABRSM Diploma in Advanced Performance.

Sarah has taken part in projects with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and Manchester Camerata. She currently plays with The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and regularly plays in Pit Orchestras across Manchester and Yorkshire and has most recently played in ‘Annie’ and ‘The Gondoliers’. Sarah teaches Saxophone at beginner – intermediate level as well as Flute from beginner – advanced level.
