Gerry Green – Woodwind, Folk and Piano Tutor

Gerry GreenGerry offers expert tuition for several instruments and is a very talented individual. Her main instrument is clarinet, which is taught from beginner level up to grade 8, alongside piano and keyboard (up to grade 5), penny whistle (up to any stage, mainly covering Irish folk music), and bodhran (taught up to an intermediate standard). On a Tuesday or Wednesday morning, a joyful assortment of different sounds can be heard from Gerry’s studio upstairs at Booths Music.

 


Gerry Green: Experience

 

Alongside numerous grade certificates, Gerry attended the London College of Music to earn herself both ALCM and LLCM diplomas in clarinet playing, a GLCM honours degree (including clarinet and piano performance) and a Post Graduate Diploma in the study of Music for Film and TV.

 

Gerry offers a wealth of experience, including almost 25 years of teaching musical instruments, 30 years of national orchestral clarinet performance and a lifetime being involved playing folk instruments up and down England and Ireland. Gerry is currently holding a position with the bass clarinet at Bolton Symphony Orchestra, and also performs as a folk duo with her husband, who is also a keen musician.

Gaining popularity all the time, you can also find folk lessons and tuition at our Bolton centre, including the whistle, banjo, ukulele, accordion and the mandolin. What’s more, brass lessons can be arranged upon request.
